Amy Adams's Best Red Carpet Looks Through the Years

Publish date: 2024-04-19

Amy Adams has been a fixture on red carpets since her first Oscar nomination for Junebug in 2005, and for good reason: The actress has seamlessly moved between drama, comedy, and even musicals. Her versatility extends beyond her roles to her red carpet style, where the actress has shown that she's not afraid to mix it up, comfortably channeling old Hollywood in regal gowns and soft waves or bringing the sexy in figure-hugging Tom Ford dresses and sleek locks

Adams has been working with stylist Petra Flannery (who has also styled Zoe Saldaña, Emma Stone, and Reese Witherspoon) since 2013. Flannery has spent that time focusing Adams's red carpet style, telling The New York Times in 2017, "Amy's style has gone into cleaner silhouettes and things that are more column-like, or a piece that maybe has a bit more modern detail," adding that the actress, "also has this side to her that is very feminine and loves pretty clothes and that aspect of dressing up."

Beyond her partnership with Tom Ford (who directed her in his 2016 feature film Nocturnal Animals) — which brought about a stunning run of sexy, form-fitting gowns — Adams has also often turned to body-skimming looks from Versace. Rarely going for expected ball gowns or tulle-heavy looks, Adams has clearly developed a signature red carpet style all her own.
