DJ Cuppy born Florence Ifeoluwa Otedola, is a musician and entrepreneur. She was born in Lagos, Nigeria in 1992. She lived in Ilupeju for six years before moving to Ikeja.

She then moved to London for her GCSE’s and A-Levels. Cuppy graduated from King’s College London in July 2014 with a degree in Business and Economics. She also graduated from New York University having completed her Master’s Degree in Music Business, and now lives in London.

Cuppy’s musical endeavors began at a young age. By the time she turned 18, whilst attaining a BSc Economics at Kings College London, she was already producing her own tracks and DJing around the world. To this date, Cuppy’s DJ skills have taken her to over 25 countries and she continues to fill dance floors across the globe.

Recently, Femi Otedola shared a video on Instagram in which his celebrity daughter DJ Cuppy was being interviewed on a radio show about her new song Gelato. During the interview, she was asked if her father was tired of having his name being blared all over. DJ Cuppy laughed and said that he was actually exhausted already.

The fact that his signature surname is on the lips of everyone has made him really tired. As a caption to the video which he shared on his Instagram page, Femi Otedola confirmed DJ Cuppy’s words. He jovially said that he is tired, not just of the lyrics of the Gelato song, but of his daughter. His exact words were these: “Getting tired of my daughter Miss #Gelato.”

In 2014 Cuppy was the resident DJ at the MTV Africa Music Awards in Durban. She then played at the Tatler and Christie’s Art Ball in London, and at the Financial Times Luxury Summit in Mexico City.

In July 2014, she released House of Cuppy as her first compilation mix in London and Lagos, before launching it in New York on September 2, 2014.

In August 2015, Cuppy set off on her first DJ tour to 8 cities in Africa, titled “Cuppy Takes Africa”. She visited Nigeria, Senegal, Ghana, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, Uganda, and South Africa. The “Cuppy Takes Africa” tour included performances, major artist collaborations, and charitable engagements supported by GTB Bank and the Dangote Foundation. Later that year, she interned at Jay-Z’s Roc Nation.

In October 2016, the “Cuppy Takes Africa” tour aired on Fox Life Africa as an 8-episode docu-series. In 2016, Cuppy was the resident DJ for MTV2’s Uncommon Sense with Charlamagne Tha God.

She produced two songs, “Vibe” and “The way I am”, which appeared on the “Afrobeats” EP by Young Paris which as released on March 24, 2017. On October 13, 2017, she released “Green Light”, her first official single. The song features guest vocals from Nigerian singer and producer Tekno.
