Bam Margera Calls Ex-Wife A Gold Digger After Hes Placed On Psychiatric Hold
Bam and Nikki Margera’s divorce has gotten even messier after the Jackass star was placed on an involuntary psychiatric hold, only for him to then make a series of accusations against Nikki upon his recent release.
Speaking to TMZ, Nikki’s lawyer David Glass claims Bam has been verbally berating her over text, and alleging she only wants his money.
"Bam has started texting since his release from the 5150 hold, but the content quickly turned abusive, calling Nikki awful names, saying she is the cause of all his problems, even saying she’s a 'gold digger,’” the attorney alleged.
While Bam has been released from the 5150 hold, he’s reportedly planning to get treatment at the same rehab center that helped Lamar Odom after his infamous overdose in 2015.
While that may be the key to getting Bam clean, there’s no guarantee it’ll improve his communication with Nikki.
Not only are Bam and Nikki in the midst of a divorce, but they’re also fighting over custody of their 5-year old son Phoenix.
Bam’s attorney Peter Thompson says Nikki’s requests for child support amid accusations she’s keeping Phoenix from Bam motivated the actor to send her the vicious text messages.
"Bam continues to support her and Phoenix even though she won’t even allow a phone call or FaceTime with Phoenix,” the attorney claimed. “He just wants to see his son and continues to come up against a brick wall on that. Contact would go a long way in getting this resolved."
Earlier this month, it was revealed that Nikki is requesting $15,000 per month in child support. In legal fees, she claims this is tantamount to her monthly expenses. She also wants him to cover her legal fees. It’s unclear if she’s also pursuing spousal support.
Moreover, Nikki is also hoping to be awarded full physical and legal custody of their son, with Bam being reduced to supervised visitation.
Despite having an estimated net worth of $1 million, Nikki claims her estranged husband is worth $55 million in total when considering all his assets, the documents continue.
Although Bam became a household name thank to the Jackass franchise, he lost the opportunity to star in the latest instalment, 2020’s Jackass Forever, when he was fired allegedly over drug and alcohol dependency issues.
Bam went on to file a wrongful termination lawsuit against the movie’s production, which was eventually privately settled. Bam checked into rehab shortly after, though the stint was short-lasted. Hopefully, his upcoming stay in treatment has a more successful outcome.
